Processing
Recommended quantity of smart purging agent RamClean®204 and 800
Recommended usage of RamClean® 800
RamClean® 800 - designed to clean materials with working temperatures 230°C –360°C: PP, PE, PA, PC, PS, EVOH, ULTEM, PEX, PPO, PPS, Polysulfane and more.
For cleaning cylinder, screw, die and mould:
- Stop feeding the extruder with the material in use.
- Clean the Hopper and surrounding area very carefully.
- Clean the colour dispenser (if applicable). If possible, shut it down and remove it.
- Empty the extruder.
- Raise working temperatures by 10°C. For heat sensitive materials, do not raise temperatures more than those recommended by the resin manufacture.
- Raise the Back pressure to the highest safe level.
- Start filling RamClean® 800 until its flows out from the mould, using 30-40% the regular RPM.
- Stop the screw and let RamClean® 800 sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Dismantle and clean the "die" if necessary (if purge is dirty, rough and contaminated).
- Start purging out RamClean® 800:
- a) By injecting it through the opened mould at a low injection pressure. Or
- b) By closing the mould and injecting products at half the weight.
- If contaminants are still visible after most of RamClean® 800 is flushed out, add more and repeat steps 4 to 9.
- Add the next material to use and continue injecting half weight parts until all RamClean® 800 is out.
- Resume production using normal production settings.
Recommended usage of RamClean® 204
RamClean® 204 - designed to clean materials with working temperatures 150°C –260°C: PP, PE, PA, PBT, PC/PBT, PC/ABS, ASA/PBT, PC/ASA, EVOH.
For cleaning cylinder, screw, die and mould:
- Stop feeding the extruder with the material in use.
- Clean the Hopper and around it very carefully.
- Clean the colour dispenser (if exists). If possible, shut it down and remove it.
- Empty the extruder.

- Raise the Back pressure to the highest safe level.
- Start filling RamClean® until its flows out from the mould, using 30-40% the regular RPM.
- Stop the screw and let RamClean® sit for 5-15 minutes. Fot heat sensitive materials, don't stop for more than 5 minutes.
- Dismantle and clean the "die" if necessary (if purge is dirty, rough and contaminated).
